NOVEMBER UPDATES
The AVOSA Family Ministry General Body had met for their quarterly meeting in the first week of November. The meeting included a study and discussion on Chapter 8 of Amoris Laetitia – Accompanying, Discerning and Integrating Weakness – situations leading to re-marriage, civil unions and live-in relationships, and ways and means by which the church and accompany and care for the ‘weakest of her children’.
Plans for the next AVOSA FM event, the Catholic Singles Get-Together on 25 th January 2019 were relayed to the General Body members.
Continuing with the monthly FM activities in the various parishes, the parish FM teams were also involved in assisting at the local parish level in the various programmes, as well as gearing up for preprarations for the season of Advent and Christmas. The Feast of the Holy Family will be celebrated in the various parishes on December 30.
A Family Enrichment Day as well as Parenting Seminar conducted by Fr. Arul at St. Francis Xavier Church at Salalah in Oman had been well received by the parishioners.
Marriage Encounter (ME)
In addition to the monthly Love Circles meetings, The ME team had conducted a Formation Day for the ME facilitators on November 24.
Catholics for Family and Life (CFFL)
The CFFL – Singles for Family and Life (SFL) had organized a national level Acquaintance Party on November 30 in Dubai. This also included the MUSIKA at AKO – an original song and music video competition.
Couples for Christ (CFC)- 23rd November: Youth for Christ (YFC) National Sports Fest at Abu Dhabi.
- 30th November: 26th Anniversary in UAE Celebrations at Abu Dhabi.
