The AVOSA Office of Communications has partnered with the Veritas Asia Institute of Social Communications (VAISCOM), an initiative of the Federation of Asian Bishops Conferences (FABC) to offer a series of online courses in communications titled “Communication for Pastoral Leadership” (CPL).
The CPL series will equip candidates to be confident communicators who proclaim the Gospel effectively in the digital age. They will also help candidates to acquire key communication related skillsets which are useful for various pastoral settings and ministries.
Who is this course for? The course is open for any member of our faithful who may like to learn and enrich themselves in the field of Church Communications. Those who hold roles of leadership, formation, communication or media-related responsibilities in our parishes, movements, associations or prayer groups will especially benefit from this programme.
The completely online and self-paced CPL programme is tailored specifically for our faithful who have time constraints to attend in-person classes.
Start Dates The commencement of the courses are as follows: July 2021 (Basic Course) January 2022 (Advanced Course) July 2022 (Diploma Course)
Students will take a minimum of 1 year and a maximum of 3 years to complete the series.

Basic, Advanced and Diploma courses The programme consists of three courses: Basic, Advanced and Diploma. You may opt for any individual course or the Diploma (all three).
You must complete the Basic course to take the Advanced course and you must complete the Advanced course to take the Diploma course. Evaluations will be conducted after each course and certificates/diploma will be issued to successful candidates.
Both the Basic and Advanced course will cover 30 modules and 10 skillsets. For the Diploma, the candidate has to complete 5 projects with suitable research from among a choice of over 40 different themes.

How to register The cost of each course taken individually is USD150 and the cost of the Diploma course (all three together) is USD 400.
