Immaculate Conception Church in Al-Ma'ala, Aden destroyed

12 May 2015 (Abu Dhabi).

According to a report received today morning, we announce with sadness that the Immaculate Conception Church and the adjoining priests' residence in the Al-Ma’ala area of Aden has been destroyed in the aerial bombing carried out yesterday night.

The Church was constructed in 1960. A weekly mass was celebrated in the Church till the recent unrest.

We request the prayerful support of the faithful of the Vicariate and the Christian Community throughout the world during the trying time for the few faithful who still remain in Yemen and for the civilian population in the affected areas.
