On Monday morning, March 17, the Apostolic Vicar of Southern Arabia, Bishop Paolo Martinelli OFM Cap., visited the Minister of Endowments and Religious Affairs of the Sultanate of Oman, H. E. Dr Mohammed Bin Said Bin Khalfan Al Mamari, in Muscat.
Were also present at the meeting, the Director of the Office for Religious Affairs and the parish priest of the Holy Spirit Catholic Church in Ghala-Muscat, Father George Vadukkut OFM Cap. The meeting was very cordial. They talked about the importance of tolerance, coexistence and social cohesion and the different values that we have in common and that allow us to collaborate among people who belong to different religions working together for peace and mutual respect. The Apostolic Vicar then informed the Minister about the construction of the new building for Christian education that is now almost complete. The dialogue confirmed the excellent relations existing between the Catholic Church and the Sultanate of Oman.
Finally, Mons. Martinelli thanked for the support that the Catholic Church continuously receives from the Omani authorities, and at the end of the meeting, the Minister of Religious Affairs gifted him a box containing pure incense produced in Oman.
