AVOSA General Meeting 2018

12 January 2018 (Abu Dhabi).

The AVOSA General Meeting was held from 8-11 January 2018 at St. Joseph's Cathedral Complex, Abu Dhabi in the presence of Bishop Paul Hinder and Archbishop Francisco Padilla. Around 70 priests, 4 sisters and those responsible for the various Offices of the Vicariate took part in the meeting. The Bishop and all the Offices (Finance, Tribunal, Communications, Family, Schools and Formation) presented their annual reports.

The Nuncio Abp. Padilla also addressed the gathering with several points. Something special that marked this event was the presence of Fr. Tom Uzhunnalil SDB and Fr. George Muttathuparambil SDB at the meeting. Both the priests presented moving accounts of their time in Yemen.

Several topics, including those touching the life of service of the priests and religious, liturgy, the family, youth, ongoing formation and administrative matters were discussed. The meeting concluded around 10 am on Thursday 11 January. 

The annual General Meeting provides an excellent platform for the clergy, religious and staff to come together, assess the past year from various fronts and renew themselves into a unifying force under the Bishop and place themselves at the service of the people of God.
