During his historic visit to the UAE (3-5 February 2019), the Holy Father Pope Francis and the Grand Imam of Al-Azhar Ahmad Al-Tayyeb signed the Document on Human Fraternity for World Peace and Living Together on 04 February 2019 at the Founder's Memorial.
The Abrahamic Family House, built in the Saadiyat Cultural District in Abu Dhabi is a complex
embodying the spirit of the Document of Human Fraternity for World Peace and Living Together signed in Abu Dhabi.
It aims to foster the values of peaceful co-existence, tolerance and understanding
among the followers of Islam, Judaism and Christianity to contribute together to the formation of a more humane world.
The space consists of a Church, Mosque, and Synagogue in dedicated spaces for the respective worshippers
and a common Forum for visitors for learning and dialogue.
Inauguration
The Abrahamic Family House in the Saadiyat Cultural District in Abu Dhabi was officially inaugurated on 16 February 2023 by H.H. Lt. General Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior, and Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Tolerance and Coexistence.
The International Day of Human Fraternity
The International Day of Human Fraternity is celebrated every year on 4 February, starting 2021.
The day commemorates the signing of the Document on Human Fraternity by His Holiness Pope Francis and His Eminence Grand Imam of Al-Azhar Ahmed Al-Tayeb in Abu Dhabi, on February 4, 2019.
The Zayed Award for Human Fraternity
The Zayed Award for Human Fraternity was inspired by the signing of the Document on Human Fraternity by Pope Francis and the Grand Imam of Al-Azhar, Head of the Muslim Council of Elders in the UAE on 4 February 2019.
It seeks to honour the legacy of the founder of the United Arab Emirates by celebrating people who embody through their work his lifelong commitment to Human Fraternity.
