Sr. Josephine Peroni, a Comboni Missionary Sister who served in the Gulf region for 61 years passed away in Verona, Italy in the evening of 31 January 2022. She was 83 years old.
Born in Verona, Italy, on 3 September 1938, Josephine made her first religious profession as Comboni Missionary Sister on 3 May 1961 in London.
After spending two years of novitiate in London (1959 - 1960), Josephine began her missionary journey in the Gulf in 1961. She extended her service in the school in Bahrain (1961 -1982) for a period of 21 years before she arrived in Dubai in 1982, where she served for 40 years.
In Dubai, Sr. Josephine continued her missionary commitment by serving in St. Mary’s Catholic High School, Dubai. She also offered her service in the parish and in faith formation.
After her retirement from service in the school, Sr. Josephine excelled in serving in the catechetical program of the parish through her excellent and full-time commitment. She also made herself available to the service of the Samaritan ministry of the parish.
Sr. Josephine left Dubai for good on 18 December 2021 due to health problems.
The funeral ceremony will take place in Verona on Friday, 4 February 2022.
