"We did well to create the nativity scene in our homes as a sign of our love for Jesus. But do not forget that we must be the shepherds who come to Jesus and worship him. We, our families, and our communities are called to be the living nativity scenes."
"It is not that we are reaching out to God, but it is God who reaches to us, and it is He who comes to live among us. He makes for us a home: the Church."
"The birth of John the Baptist closes the past and prepares us for the new beginning: Jesus is God's perennial newness for us. Christmas is the possibility of a new beginning and thus becoming new creatures. "
"In the mystery of the incarnation that we celebrate at Christmas, God unites himself forever with the human creature. In this way, He opens for us the possibility of participating in divine life, and allows us to experience God's love."
"This is the most excellent sign that we are free people: we can receive and give love freely. Humans are free when we are loved and when we love others."
"The Mother of God always leads us to Jesus and intercedes for us, so that by imitating her, we too can carry Jesus in our hearts, in our families and bring Him to others through the testimony of our life."
"John the Baptist awakens the desire for salvation in everyone and arouses people to decide to change their existence, abandoning the path of evil and choosing the path of good."
